SIS Circles Inc.

“Empowering and uplifting girls one sister at a time.

The Mission:

Our mission is to empower and inspire Black and Brown girls between the ages of 12-18 to reach their full potential by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and support to become confident and successful leaders in their communities and beyond. We strive to foster their social-emotional development and well-being as an integral part of this process.

The Vision:

We envision a world where Black and Brown girls are equipped to thrive in all areas of life, empowered to make positive changes in their communities, and confident in their ability to create a bright and promising future.

Who We Serve

Education happens within the context of a larger community. Our approach extends beyond the school to help ensure students have the necessary support to do their best learning. SIS Circles is committed to delivering impactful programs and activities toward an equitable society for Black and Brown teen girls through intergenerational group mentorship and a specially designed culturally appropriate curriculum that equips our teen girls with essential social and emotional skills, including self-awareness, emotion management, teamwork, and healthy decision-making.

What We Do

SIS Circles programming targets Black and Brown girls who are eligible for free/reduced lunch, are likely to be first-generation college students, and attend schools with high school graduation rates between 67% and 71%. SIS Circles create safe spaces where our girls can explore their emotions, learn effective communication skills, and develop self-care and stress management strategies. Through our programs and initiatives, we strive to foster a culture that values and prioritizes the social and emotional well-being of girls.

Our Team

We facilitate mentorship through an intergenerational leadership model, providing support and real-life models of professional success in a broad array of careers and skilled trades.
