Program Overview

SIS Circles is a programming initiative aimed at empowering Black and Brown girls through education, mentorship, and community building.

The program provides a safe space for our girls to explore their identities, build confidence, and develop essential skills to help them succeed.

Here's an overview of the program:

Education

College Black Woman

SIS Circles provides its participants with a range of educational opportunities. This includes self-esteem, communication skills, financial literacy, and career development workshops. The program also offers academic support through tutoring and access to educational resources.

Mentorship

Healthy Black Women

SIS Circles pairs each participant with a mentor who will serve as a role model, advisor, and friend. Mentors are selected based on their expertise in a relevant field or personal experiences and are trained to provide guidance and support to their mentees.

Leadership Development

SIS Circles aims to develop the leadership skills of its participants. Through workshops, training sessions, and other activities, the program teaches girls how to communicate effectively, work collaboratively, and take initiative. Participants are encouraged to become leaders in their communities and to advocate for themselves and others.

Overall, SIS Circles is designed to provide black girls with the tools and resources they need to succeed in life. By fostering a sense of community, providing mentorship and education, and developing leadership skills, the program empowers its participants to achieve their goals and make a positive impact in their communities.

Career Development

Our bi-annual leadership and career conference brings together professional women, college students, and teen girls for an inspiring day of mentorship, real experience sharing, and fellowship focused on resiliency and college/career exploration. Each year, SIS Circles organizes the Passport to Profession Conferences to provide Black teen girls with meaningful interactions with inspiring mentors. With the support of our generous partners like Goldman Sachs and Saks 5th Avenue, participants learn about internships and opportunities to work in various corporations.

Applications for Life

We incorporate the four pillars of SIS Circles that will support our students in job readiness and placement. Students are introduced to exploring STEAM and using their creative talents as they explore technology in the workspace. They will take courses and earn a professional certificate in a courses STEAM course that will lead them to career opportunities in the field of their choice. Each student will participate in the WEE program and attend the Passport to Professions bi-annual conference, where they will learn and prepare for career and job opportunities.
